I’ve always thought it would be fun to do product reviews. Like everyone else, I often browse department stores, discount retailers and thrift shops, looking for good deals, and I’ve always wanted to share those finds with others who may also be deal-seekers.
But I don’t have enough time or interest to try to make money from doing it like TikTok and other social media influencers. So, instead, I thought I’d occasionally share some of my favorite finds here.
My latest discovery came from Rainbow Shops. For years, I’ve mostly associated the store with clothing geared toward teens, twenty-somethings, and club wear. But every now and then, if you’re willing to look, you can find a few affordable pieces that work surprisingly well for everyday wear or even the office.

On a recent visit, a pair of turquoise Bamboo slides caught my eye. At around $15, they were an easy purchase. What surprised me most was that I even liked the logo design — a rarity for me since I’m usually not a fan of visible branding, designer or otherwise. And they are a great color for beachwear.
I also picked up two sundresses, one green and one coral, for about $20 each. They’re currently waiting in my closet for Mississippi’s weather to fully commit to summer, which may happen in only a couple of days. If time allows, I’ll share more of these shopping discoveries in future posts.
I guess the moral of the story is that treasure hunting isn’t about where you look — it’s about being open to what you might find.
