Product Reviews: Coastal Hibiscus Brings the Scent of Summer to My Desk

LaReeca Rucker

Lately, I’ve been interested in perfumes and fragrances. It all started after I received a few gift sets that included luxury fragrance samples. After testing them, I realized there were several scents I loved enough to buy full-size bottles.

My latest addition, however, wasn’t a luxury splurge. I found it at Marshalls, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite everyday fragrances.

It’s called Coastal Hibiscus, and interestingly, there’s no brand name listed on the bottle. If you’re lucky, you may still be able to find it on the shelves at your local Marshalls. According to the label, it features notes of lemon, watermelon and musk. To me, though, it smells like a blend of Sol de Janeiro’s signature beachy fragrance with the fresh, salty air you experience while standing along the ocean.

The packaging is just as charming as the scent. The perfume comes in a seashell-shaped bottle topped with what looks like a round pearl, making it feel like a little piece of summer sitting on my desk.

I bought it specifically to keep at work, so I can enjoy a reminder of warm beach days no matter what time of year it is. If you’re looking for an affordable fragrance that captures the essence of summer, Coastal Hibiscus is worth keeping an eye out for during your next trip to Marshalls.
